Beige bathroom decor...white towels or coloured?

My new home has two ensuite shower rooms and a family bathroom. All have white fittings and various cream/beige/brown tiles and flooring. I'm a huge fan of white towels, but is this an opportunity to be a bit more adventurous?

I love white towels too do would probably do that!

My dad has dark brown ones though, those look really nice too

We had this debate, in fact I think I even posted on MN about it! Equal responses both ways IIRC. In the end we went for white and I think that was probably the right decision.

I personally would go coloured as one wipe of my face with a white towel and there is always some make up on it!

We have some lovely stripey ones in bright colours in our white bathroom and scales to match!

We have a Deep Slate Grey that works well (one bathroom pale green, the other beige (ish) and the grey works with both!

We have a dark aubergine towel (habitat) which we mix with beige and white so everyone knows who's is whose.

beige and white is nice but a bit boring imo. we have a very neutral, limestone beige bathroom - brightened up with a patterned roman blind, towels and accessories in green.

Coloured towels are nice, but it's tiresome how they fade, and how you can't get matching replacements.

White is just much less trouble.

I have some lovely blue-grey ones but they've started to look faded and I spilled eye drops on one which left disccoloured marks all over it Sad. Always buy white now as they look better for longer and most marks can be sorted with a good dose of bleach.
