Would really love some advice if anyone has a minute. The French Grey went up this morn (sitting/dining room) and I am torn as to whether I like it (but it's staying) ! Love love the Clay 39 in the kitchen and the rolling fog in hall, stairs and landing though.

Really don't know what colours to go with for sofa and 2 armchairs that I plan to reupholster ? Also blinds/lamps etc ?

Thanks guys

That's a really versatile colour, and I think it would go with almost anything. Depends on the light in your room, but pale cream would look classy and could go a bit French shabby chic if you like that look.

Warm smoky amethyst also works. As does really strong burnt orange. Primrose can look great against grey, esp with a pale cream combined. And pale olive also.

Think you do need to sharpen it with an off-white somewhere, but I expect ceiling and woodwork will do that.

I'd bring in some pattern too.

Thank you so much Fresh ! Yes pointing is going on timber work. Would love an olive chair and love the amethyst idea. Also had oatmeals in mind maybe. Thanks for your time. Really appreciate it.

Is that one of the 50 shades of grey?

We have got French Grey Mid in our living room and we have got white/off white and oatmealy colours in there too. I also plan to add a bit of dark faded red (the colour of old bound books or kelim rugs).

We also have French Grey Pale in our bedroom and just have lots of different shades of bluey grey plus white in there (boring but restful!)

I like your ideas fresh!!
I have just painted my kitchen cupboards (again!) in little greene french grey but i had to mix it with the french grey dark to get the same depth of colour in eggshell as in the emulsion. I have found the eggshell to be lighter than the emulsion tester pots. My kitchen is an open diner with living area as well and I have just ordered sofas in an oatmeal linen colour. I kept them a neutral colour and plan to have bolder accessories like a bold yellow lamp and lilac and khaki ish cushions.
