Kitchens from NEXT - any good?

I'm probably the last person in the world to now know this, but I didn't realise that NEXT did kitchens.

Anyone have one? Any good?

I didn't know this either, but my friend ordered a range through them and raves about the service she received.

Linky? too lazy to look myself.

I've only had a quik look here so far, but have sent for a brochure. One or two I rather like.

I'd no idea Next even did kitchens. Is this a new thing or something I'm only noticing now cos I'm looking?

Would a coffee coloured kitchen be terribly wrong? I love the picture of it in the gloss range.

I actually saw some kitchens in a Next store yesterday, they did not look particularly good quality.

Blimey the nearest place I can see one is Thurrock which is still a long way from me. Dh will take some persuading. I can just imagine his enthusiasm for a long drive to see a kitchen.

Moomoomie Not too good? What stood out or was it a general impression?

General impression to be honest. I think they are trying to cash into a different market. Im not sure on price, but I don't think they are cheap. I reckon if you are in the marke for a new kitchen you are better off going to a proper kitchen showroom.

Thanks for your thoughts MoomoomieSmile. I think you could be right.

Its a way off yet before we'll be getting one. Gotta move first although that's hopefully imminent.

I love looking at them though

Thanks Tyler! Very helpful will have a look at thatSmile

Because I ordered a brochure yesterday they've just phoned me .

The brochure apparantly doesn't give prices; they like to send a 'designer' round to discuss. I'm backing off at high speed. I def don't want hard sell for an evening and don't trust anywhere that won't say upfront what something costs.

I did find out that they've only been doing kitchens since January though. The chap said lots of places now branching out into kitchens ie Tesco and Everest he said. Well well...who knewConfused

After seeing this thread last night I ordered a brochure too - never heard of Next doing kitchens before.

They rang me today too, and said that prices weren't included in the brochure. When I pressed on this he said that the average spend by customers is £4-8000.

I said I'd make a decision on whether or not I will see one of their designers once I've had the brochure. I don't like Next home furnishings so I wonder if this will just be more of the same?

Next don't not buy there kitchens from sigma.
Sigma buy there doors in from various suppliers.
There kitchens ain't that great for the cash they want either.
Sigma will give you a much better kitchen for less no doubt.
The next carcass is cam n dowel with only 8mm backs - Most kitchen people offer pre-built glue and dowel with 18mm all round for a stronger unit and an array of carcass colours where next offer 1.

Only repeating what I was told. Sigma buy doors in from other suppliers but the kitchens as a whole are supplied for Next by Sigma

They may get the carcass off sigma as they make there own
door wise all the door offered by next are standard vinyl doors you can get from any door maker.
If you type in the names of there doors you will see alot of other people using these also

Next appear to have opened some Next Home stores, we have one and it has everything from the kitchens to tiles, paint, beds etc

Means you get a good feel for the quality of something before you buy it.

I haven't checked out their kitchens though so can't comment on the quality.

Yes, that's were I saw them, in a new Next home store. Interestingly there were no prices about, and the sales guy jumped on us as soon as we walked around.
