A moroccan log cabin style????

New house. I want the living room to feel cosy and warm, DH wants it to be in a log cabin style with moroccan colours/touches.

I don't have a clue what I'm doing as have always been in private rentals and not allowed to do anything.
Can you help me out with some ideas?

Pretty much a blank canvas to work with, Magnolia walls and dark beige carpet, Looking for rugs and wall hangings there.

I have the ubiquitous L shaped dark brown leather sofa, which will have to stay. Some 24 inch cushions which I'd like new covers for.

Help please?

Me neither!

I was looking at next online earlier, they have a moroccan design collection on there!

I had a nosy at that, apparently it's the right shapes but too purple!
He wants spice colours??

Would tell him to source the stuff his-bloody-self but christ knows what we'd end up with!

I just put Moroccan as a search term into Pinterest, and there's some good inspiration in the images that come up.

Something like this?

Not sure that Morocco is known for log cabins though, is he thinking a bit New England but with less white and more exotic jewel colours?

Colourful throws and cushions would be good, but might make your room look quite studenty.

Maybe this is what he has in mind - a simple, colourful look with white wood?

I don't think he knows himself to be honest!

Yes I think New england style but warmer, richer colours!

We have a bronze lamp that is vaguely moroccan in style, So I think that's where he has the moroccan idea from.

It's okay Fiolondon, It's a council house and we just painted magnolia over some pretty garish wallpaper, So walls are a blank canvas really.
