My roof is half off and my neighbour has come to say "ooh hurricane next week"

We are half way through the big extension. Our entire roof is to be removed. Half of it is off. We have a huge tin structure around the house. No sheeting yet as it was too windy this week to get that up without it becoming a big sail.

And my neighbour has come to say that next week a hurricane is expected up North. Lovely.

I think the extension stress is now beginning to get to me.. I have been ok about the hoards of builders wandering through my house, the constant mess and noise, electric and water on and off. The neighbours rolling their eyes as parking is impossible on our little road.

But I don't want a hurricane. I hate wind. It scares me

Anyone else roofless and sighing big sighs.

I came home one day to find that next door neighbour's roofers had taken part of our tiles off as well as all of theirs... We share a chimney - they'd taken off across to our side of the chimney.

Hope you get it all pinned down as much as possible before any more high winds.

Our neighbours have requested the roofers give their roofs an MOT whilst they are up there... And if they could do abit of pointing whilst up there....

Did you get the chimney sorted out ok?

The chief builder came late this afternoon,he's given me the scaffolders phone number just in case but he says the scaffolder came around this morning to recheck having heard the forecast.

So cannot do much else but just keep fingers crossed and that the forecasters mistook hurricane for the word heatwave...
