Howdens Tenby kitchen prices (and flaws!)

Hello
Have just been given a howdens brochure and love the look of the tenby kitchen. I've looked online but cant find any prices. I've seen topclasscarpentry.com but their prices for the Tenby and other kitchens look really high compared to what I've understood you pay. Has anyone bought the Tenby and could give me some idea of prices even if just for one specific unit. Or if you regret buying it that would be good to know too.

Many thanks

Howdens only sell to trade customers, so you need to find a builder/kitchen fitter and tell them what you would like and then you find out the price.
I think it was about £6000 for the units for our Howden kitchen (we weren't paying) but they were the solid wood doors.

Just had a look at the Tenby, I have the brochure here Smile. Lovely choice. I know nothing about Howdens yet, but we had a builder round the other evening to measure up our kitchen. We are expecting a quote any day. He said Howdens are good quality and offered to take us to a warehouse to see for ourselves. I was very impressed.

If you go onto the Howdens website they can tell you which fitters/builders they recommend in your area with contact numbers.

Oh thank you. We might stretch to £5k for units as we've got integtated appliances we can reuse. I just didnt want to be shown up by getting a quote for something and findingout it was four times our budget

I have a Dec 2010 Price List.

As a guid, the List Price for a 600 Hi Line Base Unit is £440.99 whilst the Net Price is £220.49. I don't understand the difference in the 2 prices.

They appear to have 17 ranges and Tenby seems to be the 4th most expensive.

HTH

Well we've had 2 quotes so far which were almost double our budget! I didn't feel shown up at all, just made me think they must be bloody expensive Grin.
The Howdens guy wasn't a salesman so wasn't thinking of his cut. I told him I know someone who can get me all the appliances for a reduced price and he was fine with it.

howdens give varying discounts to their account holders depending on how much they buy from them. Our builder has a fab discount and passed it all onto us. Yay!

Howdens reps literally stop by private houses where they can see building work going on and then ask to see the builder and try and flog them stuff. Very maverick! - we don't use them as the prices/quallity seem to vary too dramatically for our liking. The carcassas are ok but we've found the veneers/door surfaces aren't too great.

Well I guess I'll ask my builder if he can get a quote and if he rates them. But any reccomendations for a similar kitchen appreciated. Thanks for all the good info

Our house came with a brand new Howdens kitchen just over 6 months ago and I'm not particularly impressed with the quality. Its a tiny kitchen so the main storage is within two corner cupboards which is to be expected but the bottoms of the corner cupboards have huge gaps in them, the gap in the wall cupboard is big enough to get your hand inside and pull out a pack of spaghetti (I tried it) but the floor cupboards are far worse and I have broken a large ceramic bowll and lost a few items down the gap as its so big. I would look elsewhere

I don't want to hear that Reveller! Is that not due to the fitting rather than the quality of the cupboards?

Got a Howdens brochure from the builder who was doing work next door I asked and it was incredible as he just carries the brochures around inhis van
They have their sale on in October apparentlly .Get a good fitter: ask him to do it all for you whichever co you go to.............

Well I don't know, I did wonder that. It could be that the fitters wheren't very good but then they would work with the materials given and I wonder whether the gaps are because the corner cupboards where designed without regard for the possibility of stuff falling down the gap where there should be some kind of boarding.

I would suggest if you can somehow get to see one for real, have a close look at how the corner cupboards and stuff is constructed especially if like me, you are reliant on being able to fill your corner cupboards etc.
