Marketing to first viewing?

So, our house went on the market on thursday and we have a viewing booked for Tuesday 15th but thats it. Is it a terrifically bad sign that there was no interest for this weekend?

The sale is not urgent but I'm wondering if the lack of interest means it's priced too high from the off.

I haven't sold a house for donkeys years so I can't really remember how it goes, and these are obviously very different times.

How did it go when you first went on the market?

Thanks!

Depends where you are.

My neighbours house sold 1st day for asking price which was £325k but equivalent to £200k (as a lot of work was done on it) more than they paid 4 years ago which apparently was the height of the market.

One down the road - actually cheaper and on bigger plot has been for sale for 7 months but I think it's a divorce and she is blocking any sale.

South Coast in an area with lots of similar houses up for sale.

I am obviously expecting miracles!

Thanks for your timeline twosoups, it's useful to know.

In many ways I don't want to complete until the summer so I'd be a bit scuppered if someone wanted to do it now.

I think that having made the decision to sell the house I want to see some action. That and the fact I'm just not very patient!

If lots of other properties up for sale you need to think about how to make yours different - price, location, interiors. I wouldn't worry about completing before the summer as chains take along time to complete in this market.
