What do you have in your living room?

We used to have a sofa and two chairs, but when our daughter was born 2 years ago we bought two sofas (a larger one and a slightly smaller one).

I prefer having the two sofas - it takes up much less space than our chairs did. We also use them more - in the evening we can have a sofa each to lie on if we want to, but didn't really use the chairs much.

I also bought a footstool (like this www.marksandspencer.com/Abbey-Storage-Footstool/dp/B002DW0NSM at the same time and this was useful for extra seating and a fair bit of storage, but this has since gone in the front room.

We have two sofas but it all depends on the shape and layout of your room.

We currently have 2 sofas and a chair but they were bought for a different shaped room so would ideally have 2 sofas instead

My room is big 4m x 5m. The shorter ends each have a window in the middle. One longer side has a fireplace. The other side has the door, but it is at one end o f the wall.

So I was thinking of laying it out with the flatscreen tv on the wall opposite the fireplace with sideboard below. Then either two sofas facing each other perpindicular to the fireplace or a sofa with two chairs facing with coffee table in the middle.

Unless anyone has any other layout ideas?

Surely it depends on what you like to sit on and how many people are regularly sitting down.

True battery, I'm just looking for people's thoughts on what they have.

At the moment I'm thinking two sofas as we can lie on one each, but the I like the look of two chairs better.

I used to have two sofas facing each other, but this didn't really work as they were both large but only two seater, so could only really take two people each. I now have two chairs and one sofa facing and it's much better as you can swing a chair round to watch the telly! Got them from Sofasofa by the way- excellent value, would recommend!!

We have two sofas - a 2-seater and a 3-seater, at right angles. There are 5 of us, but I always seem to end up squashed!

I prefer sofas as you can slob better. But then curling up on a chair is nice. 2 sofas will be cheaper than 1 + 2 chairs. You can squeeze more children on a sofa. I'm on a 2 seater at the moment with 2 children on it, coudln't do that on a seat.

All completely dependent on the shape of your room and where the windows and doors are.

There is only one complete (ie no doors or windows) wall in our sitting room and it is quite long and absolutely needs a very large sofa on it. That decision basically conditioned all the rest of the furniture.

We bought our sofas from SofaSofa too. Unbelievably comfy and much much cheaper than the likes of Habitat and DFS.

Depends on the size and shape of your room - we have a squarish room with 2 large sofas, that sit at right angles - not keen on sofas facing each other - not sure why would rather have 2 armchairs facing a sofa.
