New build; strange newfangled light fittings? Help!

Posted this in GH as well.

I am finally getting round to replacing the cheap paper lampshades I put everywhere when I moved in.

Trouble is, I can't remove the lightbulbs!
They don't seem to be either bayonet or screw-in.
The bulbs are energy-saving, so I've never had to replace them.
Are they some new-fangled thing?
Anyone know of a different sort?

Please Help!

I'm a bit confused.
Did you fit the cheap paper lampshades? If yes, I assume you must have removed the light bulbs to get the lampshades on in the first place?
Has someone replaced all the light bulbs in your house, or replaced all the light fittings???
Can you post a pic of the light bulbs? Or describe them? Maybe someone will be able to advise then.

We've got (GU10?) halogen bulbs in the bathroom, and I've never managed to replace a blown bulb yet. DP always has to change them, I just can't get the halogen bulbs out of the fitting.

There's the thing, I fitted them over the top.

Thanks for replying, Eagle.

As it was I found out they pull out.Confused
Unfortunately, I pulled so hard in frustration the wire is now exposed.Blush
