How much would you pay?

I am about to move house to a place that has a kitchen with integral fridge/freezer, so I have no need of the free standing one I have now.

My purchaser is a first time buyer, so I am intending to offer it to her.

The fridge is a tall size Whirlpool, energy efficiency rating A. It is worth aprox £350 new. It is 5 1/2 years old, and is in good working order, and good condition.

How much should I offer it for? £150? £100?

I would have a look on ebay and see what they are going for but think you will be lucky to get over 100

if you ask too much she is likely to say no thanks. then you'll have to pay someone to remove it. in the context of selling your house for tens of thousands of pounds you can look a bit petty haggling over a fridge that isn't worth v much at all and that you dont want anyway.

I would offer to leave it for nothing.

I wouldn't expect to have to pay anything for a five and a half year old fridge/freezer as it would be out of warranty and could break down any minute (and instead would be a liability to get rid of)

I agree with the others. Leave it for free and save yourself the bother of having to get it removed.

Ditto here - it's quite old for a fridge freezer and may not be to her taste. It will be more hassle to get rid of it yourself.

Leave it! Our previous vendors didn't include white goods in with the house, then found that the house they were moving to had a fitted kitchen and offered their clapped-out oven, fridge etc to us for silly prices. We smiled and said we'd rather buy new, and they were really aggrieved! And yes, they had to get someone to take them away for recycling.

I am leaving my washer/dryer and some good quality full length mirrors (worth £200) behind for free.

I would like to raise a few quid for some new furniture for my new place, and am a bit strapped for cash because she haggled me down on the asking place for my house!

I have asked for £100. I am sure she could get one cheaper on ebay, but would have the hassle of transporting it and getting it in the house down a flight of stairs.

I will see if she is interested, and if not, will donate it to a local furniture charity.
