Hi

Is anyone really impressed by their children's junior/prep school in this area? I'm looking to move my boys into somewhere which has a strong emphasis on pastoral care and encouraging personal best. We can go private but would definitely consider state schools too. I just want a school that actively cares about the individual child's development, emotionally, socially, physically and academically. Not getting this where we are.

I'd really love to hear from anyone who is very happy with their son's school in or near this part of Surrey.

Thanks.

Have a look at Downsend - their ethos is that as long as the child is smiling then they are more likely to learn. Good all round school with opportunities to seek excellence but support for all to acheive their best. We love it!

I know some children from Downsend and they do seem happy there. Great place to start. Thanks for the tip.

Good selection of prep schools across surrey, depends on whether or not you want co-ed as many of them are. also depends on where you are thinking of going after prep as some are more focus on 7-11 and others 7-13.

My boys are at Downsend, and due to bad pastoral care with my eldest, I am moving them both in September. My youngest is going to Aberdour which has a fantastic reputation. Still to decide where my eldest will go due to the mistakes Downsend have made.
