my dd may be starting in reception. Have heard varioius neg comments about the prep (from people I know) as compared to the high school. Did your daughter attend the prep? enjoy it? It did seem a little staid ( sp?) as we went round. Are you local - we are some distance and also concerned about making friends etc. Thanks

My dd started in Reception. I wouldn't say that the WH is staid. It is just a normal academic girl's school to me. My dd loves the school and is doing well. They are pushed a bit in Reception especially with reading but Year 1 is a lot more relaxed.
We do live close to the school. I would say that the majority live either in Harpenden or St Albans with a few in Redbourn and Wheathampstead.
I suppose distance would be a bit of an issue with regards to playdates as these are encouraged in Reception. My dd's friends all live about 15 minutes away. I don't know how far away you live to the school.
What neg comments have you heard about WH? I'm curious really.
