the last one left as got a headship. This one started towards the end of last term and worked alongside the other teacher to ensure a "smooth transition".

DD came home with a letter to say that new teacher has handed her notice in and will be leaving at end of May. Great.

I know teachers have the right to personal lives, etc and who knows wha may have happened, blah, blah. But still am a bit annoyed as will be disruptive for DD I'd have thought. Though DD says this teacher is rubbish so maybe its a good thing.

DD will be fine - it seems to happen a lot! My DS1's teacher left halfway through Reception (luckily he much preferred the replacement!) and my sister's DD also had a different teacher each term during her Reception year.

I guess so. She'll have had 4 teachers by the end of this year and it must affect continuity, etc. New teacher somes in and doesn't know where the individual kids are, etc.

What year is she in? I suppose the older they get, the more important the continuity is. At DS's stage, it was mostly play and a bit of reading and writing so not such a big deal.

She's in Year 3. Yes, I think it does matter more the older they get. Hopefully things will be better next year.
