We are soon to move and I wondered if anyone has any tips/books about how to help the children adapt not only to the new house but mainly their new school?
my 2 eldest are in yr's 2 and 1 respectively but dd3 is due to start in Sept.

Also, would I be able to take the children to the new school (assuming there are places there for them!!) so we could all be shown around?

the council have said I need to phone the new school direct to find out if there are places available and obviously this is out of the question mid-easter holidays so I am on tenterhooks to a degree about if they'll get in or if I have a 40 minute commute each day to current school.

You should get the chance for them to see the school and also to spend a halfday there before they start.

You may have difficulty in finding spaces for all 3 though as reception places will have been allocated and class sizes are restricted to 30 in Year 2 and 1. But if you can get one of them in then the others will be top of the waiting list.
