Primary education

Please could someone tell us what these acronyms mean?

Diaforest and Picpavs.

DS has them on a revision list for English but insists he doesn't know what they mean [biscuits]. An internet search is proving to be fruitless.

TIA

Is he primary or secondary? They often use acronyms to remember a sequence of contents to be included, I've not come across them.
Try the school's VLE and see if there's anything on there. My DS is out so I can't grab him and ask. Smile

I've never come across them, but could it be something to do with planning? Diaforest being a tree diagram type of plan (start with the main topic as the trunk, and add branches/twigs with the ideas that follow. Picpav being a linear approach (a picture pavement) where you envisage what each of a set of steps in order would look like?

thanks very much for the replies. DS is year 5. I might suggest DS contacts on of his class mates.

Could you be kind and post the outcome? I've a DC in yr5 as well, and would be interested in knowing just in case it comes up for us. He's out at the moment, but I'll ask when he comes back and let you know if he does.

meditrina, I've found out about picpavs. It's
Punctuation
Imagery
Connectives
Paragraphs
Alliteration
Verbs
Syntax.

I've yet to get to the bottom of diaforest although DS assures me it was a typo and it's just diforest. But he still doesn't know what it stands for Smile

So it's another acronym, like VCOP or CPOW.
Pointless if it is so clumsy that the children can't remember it.
