I wonder what kids study and learn in the reception year.

Thanks

They build on what they have done in pre-school, nursery, or child minder and it is done by learning through play. Children do a mixture of activities they choose and some witch are adult led. As the teachers get to know the children some actives they provide of based on what some of the children are interested in like if some of the children enjoy playing parents the outside area might have a pirate ship in it with eye patches and treasure maps which would encourage children to use their imagination witch in later years will help in story writing. They do all areas just in a creative way most of the time the children don't realise they have learnt something. different sized jugs in the water play with cups and pots is not a just a fun game they are also learning about volume. Hope this helps maybe there will be a teacher on here that will answer it better than I can
