Is High School Musical suitable for showing in nursery?

I have complained to my nursery manager after a child brought in High school musical and it was shown to my daughters group of 3 and 4 year olds during a break.
I think although it is a U it should not been shown in a nursery. Can I have your views please. Manager is going to still show the film but on days daughter is not in. I think he should have banned all dvds from home.

Cheers

Why do you think it is not suitable exactly

I don't like the American-ness of it personally, but I am fairly sure that seening a group of teenagers sing and dance (oh and play basketball and achieve really well at school) is going to harm your child is it?

That's some length of a break if you can show a film in it!

It's not really age appropriate viewing, would be over their heads really. May as well show them the news!!

It's not unsuitable as such, but not terribly appropriate for their age group,

I think I'd be asking why they need to watch DVDs at nursery at all.

That's a lot of tv for that age group in one go too!

can't see why a nursary would show HSM.
I think that the sections that aren't singing and dancing would be quite boring for a 3 year old.

I think they probably only show a 10-15 minute segment - we did that as Mark Warner Nannies, just for a calm time after lunch before we did other activities.

I'd be pissed off too.

Its unecessary, and I don't think children are sent to nursery to be stuffed full of films that are little more than a vehicle for avertising of tat.

I really wouldn't have an issue with it at all, my 3 year old really likes it (her big sister's influence)

Think it is fine. Might be a bit long tho - I bet they'd like the musical numbers.

Have you seen it? No kissing (only in HSM 3) no bikinis. cheesy american message about being true to yourself/team work/working hard. It's about as innocuous as you can get

Thanks for the feedback. In my opinion, I feel it is not suitable in a nursery - preschool age setting as it is neither educational nor of great interest to a 3 or 4 year old. I was not consulted as to whether it should be shown and found out by accident. I pay £450 per month to this outfit and it entitles me to have a say how my daughter is cared for. The manager should have put a blanket ban on dvds from home, but instead has potentially identified me as the complainant by letting it be shown when my daughter is not there. Luckily the parents have not twigged and my child is still best mates with the hsm fan. I have more of this to come, but am determined for at least another year she is a little girl with a head full of fairies and princesses.
Thanks again.
