Phonics for idiots (me)

Does anyone know if there is an idiots' guide to phonics out there somewhere? Don't want to confuse the bejaysus out of DD with my very own "interpretation" of phonics......

Can school let you have a copy of what they are using? Some school use jolly phonics, some use the newer synthetic phonics; you are right to be concerned not to confuse DD.

Reception teacher gave all parents a booklet (photocopied) with all the relevant actions and sounds.

Jolly Phonics is a synthetic phonics scheme.

I'd say that was the best scheme around for pre-schoolers to start with due the the lovely pictures and actions. Older children sometimes use Read Write Inc.
I love the Jelly and Bean books for when they start to blend.
