Pre-school / private nursery Qs

Hi
I have 3 year old twins who will get their free 15 hours in January. The plan is that they will do 10 hours at private nursery & 6 hours at pre-school. As this totals 16 hours each I plan to pay for the extra 1 hour each per week at pre-school as well as lunch club on the 2 days. This has all to be agreed by private nursery as I discovered they normally offer 3 hour sessions per day.
So, do the government pay just £3 per hour to all settings where you use the 15 hours? That doesn't seem a lot as currently pre-school is £4.50 p/h & private nursery £9 p/h. I have been lucky because at private nursery I have been paying 1/2 price for both children. I'm just trying to figure out if they'll be fine about them attending at £3 p/h when I've been paying £4.50 p/h. Also, I'm wondering about school holidays as then I'd have to pay for them to attend private nursery myself? Sorry for me rambling on!!
I feel so confused about all of this!!!
Thank :)

If they normally only offer 3 hr sessions then you will probably only get 3 hr sessions. Settings are used to being underpaid by the government (but that's a whole other gripe). Is there any reason why you are using two different settings instead of just one? Speak to both settings and check what you will be charged for your non-funded hours.

They currently go to private nursery 2 afternoons a week so that I get to spend one to one time with my oldest son when I pick him up from school. I also get 1.5 hours to myself on those 2 days before the school pick up time.
I spoke to the deputy manager & she said they may approve my request because I've been using the nursery for 5 years. They are really good there :)
The twins currently do 1 morning at pre-school & I intending on increasing that to 2 mornings, hence the extra hour. I'd need to pay for.
The love both settings & it works well for us all & our circumstances.
I know I've asked questions only the school or nursery can answer, my head is just confused so I just wanted to get it all written down as the information came to light. Many thanks for you reply :)

If you are using the nursery all year round then you will probably find that they will deduct the funding from your yearly bill and average it out over the coming year, rather than letting you have it free during termtime and then charging for holidays
is it 1 day a week that they attend?
in our setting parents can only use 3 hours in a morning or 3 hours in an afternoon or 2 days of 7.5 hours
the funded sessions have to work for the setting as well
do they really need to go to 2 settings? both will be following the same EYFS curriculum

Thanks insancerre that is helpful to know about what they will likely do. I don't have to use 2 settings but it just works for us so that I get to spend one to one time with my oldest son (see above reply to HSMMaCM). If I just used private nursery their sessions are 9-12 or 1-4 if you are using the 15 hours. I'm not sure if they offer 2 x 7.5 hours. If I had to do the 2 x 7.5 hours I'd still want to be able to pick the twins up at 6pm so I get the special time with my son. Can you see my headache? Thank you, much appreciated.
