Just wondered what hours your 3 yr olds do and if you think and if they do full days or just half days?

My 3 1/2 year old does 9-5 3 days a week. 9-3.15 is preschool - Montessori; 3.15-5 is 'after school club' so a bit more like a play centre.

3.25 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Then at a child minder for 2 afternoons.

Why?

Our preschool offer 15hrs flexible, so they can do mornings, afternoons or 2 and a half days.

Weds dd2 goes 12.30-3.30 and then Thurs & Friday she goes 8.30-3.30.

When we sent dd1, she went 5 mornings for 3 hours each morning and then I'd take the kids out in an afternoon. Now she's in full time school, it made more sense to send dd2 2 1/2 days as I can have days out on Mon & Tues with dd2 and there's less walking back & forth to school.

Same amount as craftnclofty, that's what was on offer. Also private nursery 9-6 on a day not at pre-school as fits in better with my job.

Wondering as ds currently does 5 mornings 8:30 to 11:30 and next year when he will be 4, thinking of him doing 4 full days 8:30 till 3. Is that too much? I think he would really benefit from the extra socialisation as he is currently and only and not very confident with other children. Want him to be completely comfortable wih them by start of school.

Ilovesparklers 4 full days that you plan for your DS at 4 is not much different from what DC1 does now and he is only 3.3.He loves it, is always happy at the end of the day & although a bit tired.. not too tired! He will be just 4 when goes to school every day (late summer birthday) and will more than cope I think, so don't worry, think your DS will be fine.Agree with the socialisation, being with others has many benefits.

If I can find a preschool that can manage DS3's allergies, then he will do 3 mornings or afternoons a week from 2y8m to 3y8m, then either 5 mornings / afternoons a week, or two and a half full days.

My DS hasn't started preschool yet, but the one we're hoping to attend runs during term times. Do the 15 funded hours per week apply all year round or during terms?

Hi,
My child who is 3 years 2 months old has just joined school. He spends 32 hours in his play school., which i think is fine. I feel children at this should be in play school for not more than 2 hours.
