Water Filtration Bottles

Please could anyone recommend a good Water Filtration bottle.

There is no way we could store enough Water to survive more than a week or so, but understand there are some good filtration bottles available. As I have a Lake close to the house this might be a good solution for us.

The best system appeared to be made by a company called Lifesaver, who recently went into Administration following some doubts about whether the claims made about their product were valid.

I am now looking for an alternative and would appreciate any recommendations.

I have just bought a berkey

It was an ex display / damaged unit off ebay, never used but has a couple of dents in the stainless housing and comes with a pair of brand new filters

Have seen a video on you tube of someone testing his with everything from murky pond water to swimming pool water and was impressed enough to get one

Just need to get a couple of spare filters now although they are supposed to be good for quite a few thousand litres

If you have a lake near to the house, have you investigated the local water table with a view to possibly digging a well?
