Hi everyone, I currently have a thread active in the pregnancy section which I started when my water broke at 18+4 weeks. I am now 26 weeks today and feel that as birth is approaching I would post in this section to see if anyone has had any similar experiences or has had premature birth due to PPROM. I am at hospital 2 hours away from home basically waiting to go into labour, im hospitalised till I do as I live really far from here and this is the nearest Level 3 NICU to my home and they think its safe that I am here now waiting to give birth rather than giving birth at my hospital then being transferred here. I have been given a DVD to watch from the hospital about premature babies and birth and doctors and nurses are trying to prepare me for the arrival of our little one although I dont think you can fully prepare yourself for what is going to happen as 1 everyone is different and 2 you never know exactly what is going to be till he will arrive!

I was just wondering what your experiences and outcomes were like and also what helped you to prepare and get through this tough time and about people who delivered at different stages of gestation. Im so grateful to have made it this far as we were told we wouldnt even make it to 24 weeks! But here I am at 26 now and weve had our first round of steroids at 24 weeks!

Any help, advise and personal experiences appreciated. Nobbly x
