Pregnancy

How do I *know* I really am pregnant?

I think I have made everything up! Sickness topped at 14 weeks (hooray). Now 17 weeks. Maybe a teeny flutter the other day - maybe wind. No bump to speak of. DH says don't be silly, we saw the baby at the scan, and I know we did of course - but now I have no signs or symptoms and just feel normal.

Only possible symptoms are - stuffy nose all the time, very tired and need daytime nap, huge nipples - take up half my boob at moment.

So I guess I must be pregnant. But really, I am not enjoying this second trimester thing - I don't feel pregnant at all. And at 16 week appt midwife said she wouldn't listen to heartbeat because you can't usually hear it until 17 weeks. I have to wait a month until next scan too.

Anyone else?

Yes I felt exactly the same! But honestly very very soon you will feel movements (I first felt them at 16+6 but wasn?t convinced they were movements till about 18wks), and then you?ll feel much better about it all.

The bit between the morning sickness stopping and the baby movements starting must be the boring bit of pregnancy I've encountered so far. (although I'm only 30 weeks so got some time to go).

Even though you've had a scan and you know you're not crazy, it still feels like its all in your head. Even the first movements just feel like gas. I don't think it sunk in until the 20 week scan (couldn't properly hear the heartbeat at the 16 week appointment even though the midwife said she could so that didn't even reassure me). Started getting a proper bump and proper kicking after that scan and am now back to feeling properly pregnant (the constant acid/need to pee/leaky nipples are also frequent reminders. Lovely)

You'll probably pop in the next few weeks and once you do, although you may feel pregnant often, you can't mistake it!
