Have you done anything stupid since you've been pregnant?

I managed to set the table for two of us last night with two forks each - rather than a knife and a fork...

I have also got the wrong keys out numerous time - when am convinced I have got the right ones out and find myself stabbing my car with with my house keys...

Am also noticing that am being v. forgetful in general - anyone else doing stupid things like this?!

Am 24 weeks pregnant with my first - and was convinced that 'losing your brain' was not a real thing that happened....

I forgot to change the clock on my phone (i use it as an alarm) yesterday and consequently was v late for work with an excuse that i am sure everyone was .
At least people are assuming i have pregnancy brain, so it is actually a good excuse to be a bit scatty.

You wait until you're up with the baby 5 times a night - you'll be appalled at how your brain starts to malfunction. I used to have a brilliant memory and now it's just awful - sleep deprivation is the devil's work...

carolondon lol, I did the same thing with my phone and got up at 5 to 8! I couldn't be bothered to iron the kids' school uniform last night either so had to do that too! luckily we all made it to school and work on time - somehow....

I gave my cat an overdose of her prescription drugs - purely because of scramble brain! Luckily a quick phone call to the vet and i was told that she would be ok... nevertheless - the husband has decided that he will deal with all cat drug matters from now on!

Put coffee on my weetabix rather than sugar. Easy mistake, the jars are right next to each other

I nearly drank my own urine from one of those testing cups they give you..... I picked up the cup, raised it to my lips, realized it wasn't the flask of tea I had carried in with me and left with DH and DS in the waiting room and quickly put it down again....

At my first midwife appointment, where the form asked for 'Mother's Details', I assumed they wanted to know about my mum and filled in all her info. Very embarrassing having to ask for another form...

Since then the worst I have done is go to work in my slippers. Not that I really cared - it is amazing how late pregnancy really makes you stop giving a s**t!

I managed yesterday to be late for two appointments, both by half an hour...nothing to do with the clock change, just the fact that I was convinced they both started half an hour after they really did Also had to ask DH three times yesterday in Mothercare what we were in for. I think he thought I was testing him, but I truly lost my brain yesterday.

Drank my contact lenses and crashed the car while driving the wrong way down a one way street. My dh put his foot down after that. No more kids

HooperMummy I filled in my parents for the next of kin, and the mw said something about shouldn't it be DH .

Mostly I have forgotten as sleep deprivation does even worse things to your brain!

HooperMummy and ItIsMeOr - I remember when I gave birth to DS and they said 'shall we pass him to his Mummy now?' and I looked around and wondered where my Mum was?!

Trebuchet - I've done that without even being pregnant!!!

I pick up a tray with my bare hands which I had just removed from the oven saying to the kids 'Don't touch that, its hot' when I was pregnant with Ds2

I famously lost the cheese for 3 months, I got it out of the fridge used it put it back wanted more..... It had gone! Large £5.00 block of cheddar! Gone!

I kept expecting to find it days went by... couldn't smell it anywhere.... It finally turned up in the bottom of the freezer 3 months later.

Now any time I lose something dp always says "have you looked in the freezer"

I also repeatedly reversed the car into the house

and got pregnant 3 more times

oh my goodness such funny stories...what a comforting thread though as I have stood outside my block of flats trying the four different keys i have trying to get in as i just couldnt remember which one it was, 2 'minor' bumps on the car....wierdest thing is crying at Jeremy Kyle. I remained quite sane with DC1 so thought the pregnancy brain was a myth lol

Katy - don't watch JK, but oh my, I will cry at anything since I have had DS. I thought I was bad before! And if it's about a baby/small child, forget it! I'll look like I've done several rounds with Mike Tyson.

I lost my phone charger for ages and found it in the fridge

Also crashed a hire car into a wall on the day we were returning it, luckily no damage.....

Telling my replacement that she could phone me when I was on maternity leave.

Agreeing to write a paper while on maternity leave 'so as not to leave poor replacement in the lurch'.

I've just come off a phonecall where I've been hand-holding her through assorted work procedures while lying in agony on the floor with 'practice' contractions.

I think that has to be the most idiotic thing I've ever done, and having agreed to it all I can't back out now. Worse still she wants me to 'hurry up and write the paper as they've brought the deadline forward'. These papers normally take about six weeks to write

Momentarily forgot I was 6 months preg this time and went down one of those vertical drop 'freefall' slides at the soft play centre. Was good fun though.

Put purse and mobile in fridge for a few hours. DH found them and removed them, slowly placing them on the counter in front of me with a very pitying look on his face!

I was at the zoo with my mate looking at the map on the free handout, trying to find the way to the tigers.
I said to my mate, it doesnt have a 'you are here sign'?
She pissed herself laughing and asked me how a paper map would know where we were!
Yes how stupid did I feel!!

I was showing a friend the baby clothes i'd brought and then locked the car keys in the car boot!! Whoops.
