Pain downstairs at 32 weeks

Sorry, but to explain myself I'll have to give tmi.

I've had on/ off stomach upset nausea and diarrhrea for about a week. Now I've got REALLY bad stomach cramps. I woke up many times in the night because of a very very sharp pain down below (around the area of my rectum!). It's also on/off painful around my bump, particularly on the under-side and sometimes up my back. It's very different to previous pregnancy aches and pains because of the level of pain, at it's worst I can;t do anyhting but sit/lie and it takes my breath away. To be crude it's like having a knife in my anus/vagina. I've had gas too, I don't know how linked that is. I've taken paracetamol/ gaviscon and had a sleep and it's died down for a bit, but it keeps returning. I'd say it went on for around 12 hours at a high level, reducing me to near tears. A warm bath helped a bit. Until today the pain has largely been in my back. The baby seems ok, if anything more active, big rolls in the night rather thna kicks.

The reason I'm asking is it's gone from pregnancy niggles and pain to a really severe pain. I don't see how I can work through it tomorrow! It hasn't stopped now, but is down to manageable.

Has anyone had anything like this? Any ideas for relief? I don't want to phone GP, I've been twice in past week and ended up crying after both times after being treated like a young first time mum who wasn't clued up enogh to know that you get pain in pregnancy. Told 'it's part and parcel of being pregnant'. It just seems beyond what is normal to me. I count normal and wincing and shifting in my chair at sudden jabs or when my back/ pelvis aches or catches. Constant and severe pain is surely not??

Sorry about the many typos and poor grammar, it's a distracting pain!

I'd skip your GP and talk to your midwife. There should be a number on your antenatal notes you can call?
