Glandular fever

I'm thirteen weeks pg with my first and have just found out that my sister, who I see about four times a week, has been diagnosed with glandular fever.

The NHS website says that it can be caught by coughs, sneezes, sharing cups etc as well as kissing, and I am now shitting myself. The incubation period is up to two months, so I think its impossible to tell whether or not it will affect me at this stage.

Does anyone have any experience/ advice on this?

Thanks.

I don't know about GF in pregnancy but I had it about 5years ago and frankly, it knocked me for six, but not everyone suffers badly. I heard it was known as "the kissing disease" (not sure who I caught it from!) but I guess it's an airborne virus. I doubt there's much you can do at the moment, though obviously I have zero medical knowledge. Are you taking prenatal vits to boost your immune system? Just read this post back, I've been no help sorry!

Thanks for responding First - I'm so worried about what impact it will have on the baby if I do catch it. I'm taking Pregnacare Plus so pretty stocked up on vitamins I think!
