can't get hold of midwife..

Just had the pre birth home visit, midwife did her usual prodding about to see where baby was and then checked heart rate which had increased she stayed there for 10 minutes until it had gone back to normal.

All fine, but since she's left I've had stomach ache it's just like mild period pain.

Can't get hold of midwife but don't really think it warrants a phone call to the delivery suite, never experienced stomach ache after the prodding before (35 weeks with my third) and the baby is moving around OK.

Not entirely sure why I'm posting actually! Urmm.. I should phone midwife again shouldn't I?!

keep phoning til you get her...it is what she is there for! do not feel that you are hassling her unnecessarily...you need reassurance..

are you low risk? any other issues?
I had similar at about 25ish weeks, called the labour ward in tears to be told to take 2 paracetamol and to call back if it didn't help.
This is just my experience & the advice i was given. Of course you should carry on trying to get hold of her, but i just wanted to post in reassurance.

Thanks both.

Just got through, was told to take 2 paracetamol and phone back in an hour.

Low risk with no issues, am wondering if it might be a urine infection as I've got mild back and hip pain too.

hope the pain goes soon
have to admit i was quite at the advice when i got it, was worried what the pain meant rather than ringing because of the pain iyswim. but they obviously don't get worried about this sort of thing

Thanks Stealth.

I'm off to the hospital for monitoring. Feel like a right neurotic pregnant woman! Wanted a bit of a middle ground, more than the paracetamol advice but less than a hospital trip!

know how you feel about middle ground!!
No such thing as neurotic where your & your baby's health is concerned
hope monitoring is suitably dull & boring!!

Hi all.

They kept me in overnight, back home now, looks like the beginning of labour but this could continue for ages apparently. Oh good!
