Hi everyone, I keep gtting stitch like pains really low in my abdomen. They're not excessively painful but are definitely noticeable and uncomfortable. They seem to vary from day to day which area they are in and can be intense at times. I've read about bits and pieces stretching, just wondered if this is normal?

Also I've already put on 5lbs, is this excessive??!

One of the first things that i noticed when i was newly pg was a sharp pain when i sneezed or stood up suddenly, its normal so try not to worry it really is your womb doing stretchy type things - there is an awful lot going on in there and you are bound to feel the odd twinge - congratulations and good luck for the rest of your pg

Hi! Bebo1980. I'm currently 10+3 and I went to my doctors this morning about this exact pain. They explained to me that it is the ligaments stretching and everything moving upwards and outwards. I had my urine tested and that was ok. She had a prod around and said everything felt normal. This is my 4th pregnancy, and I do not recall these pains before. I have found it worse during the night, but have found that using a pillow under my bump podge really helps. Like you it comes and goes.

But I think the word is, that it is completely normal.

Hi Bebo1980

I am 14+3 and have had these pains since about 5 weeks. It is just your muscles moving and stretching making room for bubba!

I stood up too quickly this morning and had one and had to walk all bent over to the kitchen til the spasm feeling went. I did look choice!! LOL! I also get it if I turn over too quickly in the night. Someone told me that unless the pains you have are constant or severe and accompained by bleeding then dont worry. You will get lots of werid and wonderful sensations, I know I did and we all probably have lots more to come!

Good luck and congrats!!! xxx
