32 weeks with DC2, don't feel prepared - anyone else feel/felt like this??

Now Christmas is over and with the lovely snow/ice descending on us (that's another issue, but will leave that for now), its starting to hit me that I will soon be seeing DC2. I'm excited yet nervous about it all.

I've got a VERY lively 2yo so antenatal classes, other birth prep classes I planned to attend are out of the window (is it too late to start at 32 weeks?), plus I'm shattered with her, so unlike first time I'm worried this one will arrive and I'll be unable to cope. Only just painted nursery, I haven't checked what I have from last time, and feel scared despite being through it before.

Is anyone else feeling unprepared or am I being silly? Any reassuring posts would be gratefully received!

Thanks

Oh yes - I feel exactly the same !

Midwife hasn't even mentioned antenatal classes and the babys bedroom is still occupied by my 10 yr old DD !

The room into which she is going to move is full of junk and the cot is still in storage in it's flat packed state !

We have bought lots of 'bits' toiletries and sleepsuits etc but still haven't decided whether to buy a new pram or try to manage with the big silver cross monster we had when DD was born !!

So don't panick - I'm not in the least bit organised

Hiya, could have written your post myself! 36 wks with a very lively 2.6 year old......... and feeling totally disorganised and really not ready at all to meet the new baby!
So, sorry, no reassuring post but plenty of sympathy

Im 37 weeks with a 19mo dd!

I am just hoping that once dc2 arrives we will just get on with it and the baby will fit in (I am dreaming I know!!)

The only things we have bought this time is a double buggy, bigger crib and some white clothes/blankets as dd was a summer baby.

Are you working? I was only doing part time until a few weeks ago but when I finished it was great. I got myself sorted out then and packed bags etc.

Im sure we will all be fine

spot on 2ndtime you are definitely not alone!
I'm 30 wks and massively underprepared, definitely not had even half the time to think about this one like i did with my DD!! (and she's 2 in feb so much the same age difference??)...
unless you've named changed I don't think I've seen you on the MArch antenatal thread here but it would be lovely to see you over there and there are plenty of first, second, third, and fourth timers over there who are all feeling equally panicky!! Come on over if you fancy it.

double buggy mama2moo....oooh I well fancy a Jane Powertwin.... well done you on the organisation!!

mummyelk We have a Phil and Teds but I would have a loved a Jane if we had the money!

Im so glad I have it now with this weather, poor dd cant walk too far in the snow without getting tired!

It is really hard the 2nd time around. I think people expect you to be organised IYSWIM.

I have stocked up on newborn nappies as well.

With dd I actually washed and ironed all of her clothes and muslins when I was on maternity leave. This time I have washed them and shoved them in a drawer!!

Definatley feeling the same and am 31 weeks and I too have a lively 3.3 year old ds so just not finding the time sort out babys room. DH has put up the cot but haven't bought any other furniture yet. There are bags of clothes dumped in there plus other stuff that are still to be washed etc.

I am still working part time and due to finish at end of month as am so tired this time around - i keep panicking that she will come early and I will be deep in chaos.

Don't get me started on trying to prepare myself for the actual labour - rather scared this time around.
