Hi

I am 30 weeks and am experiencing alot of movement from littleun, far more than my first.

Should i be concerned about alot of movement. I am not in any pain.

Thank you

I think that too, I'm 30 weeks too (double snap!) and y midwife said that with a second pregnancy, you feel more movement as your tummy muscles aren't as strong. I don't want to believe her but I don't know any other explanation! It might be that he/she is trying to get the right way up?

I asked my doc a few weeks ago if there was such a thing as too much movement, and she said that if there was ap eriod of frenzied movement, followed by nothing for a while, it could be that the baby had had some sort of fit in there and was in distress, but if it was just pretty active, constant wriggling there was no need to worry. Mine is the same, and it bloody hurts sometimes!!

Im on my second too but only 21 weeks.

I too am feeling much much more movement earlier on than I did with DD. This baby is also breech at the mo so I was half putting down the extra movement down to that as the kicking is very low.

Some of its kicks really make me flinch so im dreading it by full term!

I'm the same. DD1 seemed to spend most of her time asleep in my tummy - I didn't used to feel her for hours at a time. Now 33 wks with DD2 and feeling movement so much more.......kicks have been stronger too and I can actually see bits of her poking out of my tummy (reminds me of Alien!) which i never did last time.

Pigleychez - kicks should get less violent by full term as baby will have less room to move. I'm already noticing mine getting less painful....starting to feel more like rummaging around than proper punches!

Thank you everyone for your reassuring words
very much appreciated. I guess I hadn't considered stomach muscles and space for the little un..My first baby was a very active mover but I never felt worried like that, I guess my thoughts were along the lines of 'what is going on in there - can the baby not get comfortable?' - but as you say - they just move because they still can and have a good stretch. I wish the baby stopped confusing my bladder for a trampoline!!
