Much bigger quicker with second, will it even out?

Hi,
I am 25 weeks with my second and got much bigger much faster this time round. Just wondering if this means I will continue to grow at the same rate? Will I have a much bigger bump at the end?

A few friends have said that theirs evened out at about 30 weeks and they ended up about the same size as with their first.

I expect I might be a bit bigger due to me having some complications but just wondered what other peoples experience was?

I was bigger with my second but it was an 8lb 4oz baby as opposed to a 6lb 3oz one.

I was much bigger with my second. Although she was lighter (dd2 was only 9lb 2oz) i carried so much more water with her.

I lost nearly 2stone the day i had her.

I was bigger earlier with my second but evened out - mind you I looked like I had a space hopper up my jumper with both kids by the end...

Hi there MDG..funnily enough i just came on to post a similar query..i am only 28 weeks and a bit perturbed at how my normally tiny frame is going to cope with bump growth if it carries on at this rate..there is a fair amount of bump and boob for sure but my thighs and bum seem to have padded out a lot more quickly this time around too..first time around i put on about a stone and a half in total which i lost v quickly plus more post pregnancy through breast feeding and shock of my new sleep deprived lifestyle!..but i have already put on that much weight for number 2 i am thinking even with just a pound a week i could be looking at adding another stone by the end of the pregnancy and pushing 40 will it be harder to lose this time around even with toddler to run after.
have read your other threads b.t.w and sounds like you've been having a grim time..i got quite down as bleeds too and afraid to get too hopeful..just to let you know a good friend of mine had OC with horrific itching..scratching till bled for last 2 pregs but both monitored, both v healthy kids so try not to worry too much(difficult when body full of weird hormones)re your caesarean worries..I had an emergency caesarean 1st time around after a v long attempt at natural labour but fine to bond, scar v low and up within 12 hours and was lifting(much to my DHs exasperation)till i heard a grim story about a friend of a friend who tried to pick up a tv post caesarean and decided to try to be a bit kinder to my body but i wasnt incapacitated by any means.good luck with all.

Interesting, seems to be a mix!

Bodsmum - thanks! I have been pretty exasperated with this pg. Everytime I go back to my consultants they seem to diagnose me with some new horror! Bit of a shock after my last very uneventful pg.

Good to hear positive stories about CS and OC. I'm still waiting to find out exactly what they suggest as the best course of action!

Good luck with your pg.
