Maternity exercise wear???

I seem to be drawing a blank on finding maternity exercise clothing - lots of maternity swimsuits, but that's about all. I have trawled the internet and all I can find is a company called 'Sporty Bump' who only have 5 items in their range (none of which I am that keen on) and some info that says Nike used to make a maternity range but no longer do. Anyone got any ideas??? I don't seem to be able to find anything at all! I don't want to pay a fortune, I'm just after a tank (not cotton, I want the dri-fit type fabric that I'm used to) and 3/4 capris...

thanks

Top is perfect, might have to go for full length yoga pants to find something I like tho as not managed to find any 3/4 fitted ones so far. This is the best I've seen so far, will order the vest and sweatshirt, thanks

I'll have a look tomorrow, you are welcome to have any of them (BF and walking with the pram it fell off me last time - not sure if it will be quite so easy this time but will never be a 16 again!!)

I used to wear H&M maternity leggings and picked up some maternity t-shirts from there too. Bra-wise I used to wear a maternity bra with a snug vest over it.

There really isn't much around unless you want yoga stuff (I have searched high and low!). Some US sites have more gym wear. I have the jojomamanbebe gym top and pants, they are ok for aerobics. You might find your existing gym pants fit down under the bump (mine do at 26 wks with twins) but I can only wear my longer style pre-pregnancy gym tops. Biggest pain I have found is the ever increasing bust which has meant fortnightly trips to buy sports bras. Good luck and happy exercising!

Hi

I had this problem with my first pregnancy cos I commute by bicycle and started to get a bit of pain in my abdomen from my normal gear due to the waistband.

Of course my local (independent) bike shop were great, and raised the handle-bars for me so I was sitting more upright (but unfortunately less aero-dynamic!)

I eventually found a company in the US which shipped me a pair of maternity cycling shorts to wear under my overtrousers - which I could still wear by releasing the toggle to the max. It means I didn't have to worry about my overtrousers slipping down, cos I had some suitable shorts underneath! They are called fit-maternity.com and I believe do a range of shorts and trousers with an expandable stretchy bit at the front for the expanding bump. If only a British "mumtrepreneur" had the same idea - hmmmm that gives me an idea....!

I'm now preg again and am thinking about getting some bib tights as I'm expanding much earlier than last time, and at least with a bib there's no waistband to rub against.

Very best of luck with everything - your baby will love all that rocking and jiggling!

I had such a job finding stuff to wear I ended up in a tri suit for a while! Everything was so expensive! I found something recently (too late if I'm honest don't do much now I'm so big) they only sell leggings but it's called bumpfit, they're comfy and do the job honestly just went with them cos all I could afford not sure about other brands.

Gap do some maternity sports wear now. Fittamamma do tops and capris with bump support, I've heard good things about them.

I'm lazy though and just size up in cheaper brands. I'm 15 weeks at the moment and I still fit my size 12 bottoms but have 14s ready to go soon. Size 16 tops to leave plenty of room for bump and massive rack.
