Getting bad headaches - How many paracetamol are safe in one day?

The last few nights I have had really bad headaches that start in my eyes.

I take 2 when I first get funny vision and another 1 a bit later when its just the head ache.

I had one last night again and still have an ache now but am reluctant to take more in case I have another bad one later.

Any ideas on what is safe? I take 500mg tablets.

I have mw next week so will ask her then but wondered if anyone on here knew.

Same as for non-pregnant, ie 1000mg (2x500) up to 4 times in 24 hours, normally 4-6 hours apart.
Do not be worried. Very safe.
I'd get your bp, etc, checked though.

Hi mama, if you normally take paracetamol when not pregnant then just the normal dose on the packaging. Is the funny vision like a migrane aura that you have had before? If not would def get GP to check you over.

Thanks both.

I used to get headaches like this a few years ago when not pg. They turn into a migraine if I dont lie in a dark room. Bloody annoying.

If I get another one today I will make an appointment tomorrow.

I remember these when pregnant, grim! - what used to help me sometimes was to have a little caffeine - a coke or a coffee - that sometimes helped the headache, as well as eating (carbs, protein etc) which also seemed to help. I did try as well the natural headache remedy (the strip you put on your forehead, didnt help much but made me feel better thinking i was helping it!!!)
Hope you feel better

Prolonged headaches & visual problems can be a sign of Pre Eclampsia, so please get yourself checked out!

Would get checked out, but I can confirm what nicky said, as I asked my doctor about this earlier in pregnancy.
