babies kicking

I'm approaching 20weeks and not sure if I've felt the baby kick. My hubbie was talking to it a week or so ago and he was suddenly quite loud. I thought I'd felt a little jump in my tummy but don't think I've felt anything since.
I know in a couple of months I'll be moaning that the baby is kicking like crazy but just want to feel it!
When did everyone else first feel the baby kick?

My placenta is always situated on the front wall which means many of the kicks are blocked by it so i don't feel them.

I am 21 weeks today and I feel rumbles more than anything. Not many definate sharp kicks yet.

I have been feeling them since around 16 weeks - this is my 4th pregnancy.

Yesterday, while on the school run I got some of those delightful cervix twinges where it feels like the baby is trying to get out - wasn't expecting those yet.

This baby is VERY quiet compared to the others - this time a girl, previous 3 boys. I might not feel anything all day so will go and lie down concentrating fully on my belly and see what happens. I'm off to do this in a minute as I dont think I have felt anything today, but have walked up the school and back, put washing on, washed up etc etc so probably just not noticed.

Congratulations btw.

I'm currently 22+6 pregnant with my first, and only really started feeling what I could identify as movement about 20 weeks. I find I can only really feel him moving around when I lie on my back for a while. To me it doesn't really feel like kicking as such, more like the little jumps like you describe. So, I wouldn't worry too much. A friend of mine who recently had her first child reackoned her DD only moved about once a day even at the end of her pregnancy!

I didn't feel anything til around 20 weeks with my first.

When I wanted to wake her up I used to play scissor sisters really loudly and she'd start booting me

I was 20 weeks when I felt DD1 move around for the first time, it's totally normal to be 20 weeks+ before you feel your first baby move. I'm currently pregnant with DC2 and have felt the flutters of this one moving from around 16 weeks but it's not consistent, can go days with nothing. Looking forward to feeling him/her everyday. For me the flutters come in the evenings when I climb into bed.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've only had a bump for the past couple of weeks. Its all very new and exciting. I'm not worried as the baby moves around. First thing in the morning I can almost measure the baby as its sticking really far out of my stomach. I even took a picture of it yesterday its so funny looking!

I hope everyone is having a good pregnancy!

With dd it wasnt until 21/22 weeks that I felt anything at all. The first thing was a proper kick, dp couldnt feel it for ages though.

This time with dc2 it was very early.

Wait until much later on when you can see 'things' move from one side of your bump to the other - Its amazing!!

Jayfer,

I felt DD1 moved from 16 weeks, quite early for a first I thought. Then with this pregnancy I was told you usually feel movement quicker, felt nothing til 21 weeks. was really worried, but then all of a sudden I started getting these big kicks, so i think I just missed the flutterings stage (or didn't notice running around after toddler). I'm now 23+5 and we found out its DD2 so was surprised that the pregnancies and movements were so different, this is definitely a more laid back/lazy baby!!

Don't worry about the movements, they'll be fast and furious soon enough

I'm 27wks and seem to have a very active bub - I first started feeling the 'bubbling' sensation at c. 17wks or so, and felt the first definite movements at c. 20wks, and was visibly booted for the first time at c.22wks . But then other women I work with who are at about the same stage as me have felt a lot less movement overall.

Just wait until the bub starts getting the hiccups - very cool, but also a very odd sensation!

Nothing definite until about 21-22 weeks for me (first baby).
