I Hope some of you can help or have had a similiar situation basically I am 35 weeks pregnant and i am due to c consultant in morning and cannot get things straight in my head before i go.

I have had 2 previous pregnancies both went well but the birth with both was not good i had shoulder distocia with both first one was born 9lb 8oz (ouch) second 7lb 10oz so not that big but still had to have help they cut me and had ventous now i am panicking the same is going to happen my mw would rather me push for a elective cs an consultant said he wud make sure emergency team r on standby if i go for natural delivery but i am scared and so stressed i dont want to get myself into a state over this but if i have cs then it will surely be a longer recovery wont it?? and i have the other 2 children to think about.

Sorry for such a long post but i really need advice as i am stressing so much over this!!

Hi marie please dont be stressing its really not good for ye, i know its easier said then done... Iv had emcs with Ds1 and vaginal wit epi for Ds2 and i def healed quicker and had less pain from the section! That being said i didnt get any infections and only had my newborn to take care of...
Iv been told an elective section can be a much better experience and much easier to heal from then an emergency section. Have you support for after baby arrives? A vaginal birth is always great for so many reasons but with having gone through the same trauma with both your children already id be feeling scared too. Things might be a whole lot easier this time though and you 'sail' through the birth (with plenty of lovely pain relief of course ) your body has done it twice now and although they had to give ya 'help' it was you who did it. Maybe Writing down your anxieties to discuss with your consultant could help you feel a little less stressed? HTH

Oh, m23, All I can say is that every birth is different, isn't it? Having only had two dcs, you are now in advance of me, but I bet deep down you know one thing we all get to find out is that no two birth experiences are identical. Hope you're back on here soon telling us it was weirdly quick and easy compared to the other two... bet you will
