Test results with a Mirena coil???

Does anybody know if I did a pregnancy test while having the Mirena coil, would it automatically make the pregnancy test result positive? Have some pregnancy symtoms, tired, spotty, emotional and feeling sick. So I want to know wether I can do a pregnancy test with this coil fitted.

Which are the best tests? Thanks.

Thanks sb34. Maybe mines pmt as well? I don't bleed though. I did for about 2 days after insertion and have had about 3 spots of blood since then (had it fitted last August) and nothing else.

Where can you get reliable cheap tests from?

I bled very lightly on and off for several months. However I had mine fitted at my 6 week check after giving birth, so the bleeding may have been partially due to the birth.

Just to reassure you - there has NEVER yet been a pregnancy reported with the mirena properly in place. If you can very gently tug your threads and feel nohing, then there is pretty much no chance you are pregnant. I was, but mine had slipped into the neck of my cervix. If you are worried, better to see your GP asap as they can check it is in right and if you are pregnant you cant go through it with a mirena in place, it has to come out as soon as possible, as the hormones can affect the baby. It doesnt affect your pregnancy test result.
