DC1 born at 38 weeks, DC2 born at 36 weeks... anyone know if the next one is more likely to arrive earlier or is it totally random?

We weren't given any reason for DC coming at 36 weeks....

TBH, although 36 weeks is slightly early, i'd be hesistant to describe a 36 weeker as 'premature' - as for the chances of it happening again... well when i was pregnant with dd after having my twins at 28 weeks i was told there was a 10% chance of having a prem baby again.

Anything before 37 weeks is officially premature. ds1 arrived at 36+5 & I'm currently 37+5 with ds2. I was told that without knowing why ds1 was early there's no way of knowing if it's likely to happen again. I spent a week in hospital this time at 27 weeks having contractions but since then he's shown no sign of wanting to arrive

DS ended up in SCBU for over 2 weeks due to coming at 36 weeks...so 'premature' enough...wouldn't like to repeat that experience

I've never been given stats on how likely it is to reoccur, just that there is a higher chance. Each of my pregnancies have got earlier and earlier, with the most recent being born at 27 weeks and weighing only 2lb 3ozs.
I am now pregnant with twins (again) but even with my history of birthing at 34 weeks, twins at 28 weeks and a singleton at 27 weeks I still don't have a referal to see a consultant until I am over 20 weeks despite again expecting two babies.
