dont want to go upsetting anyone untill i know all is well. i think my mum will be devistated although she loves my son.

varies person to person.

both for DD and DS didn't tell work until 24 weeks but definately couldn't wear most of clothes after 18 weeks, just select few items (skirts easier than trousers). i bought a couple of cheap things in a 14 (am usually a 12) and this kept me going a bit longer - so yes go to primark and buy some clothes in larger size, wear looser clothes etc.

My next door neighbour never knew I was even pregnant until I brought the baby home. It was all a bit embarrassing really! Like I just slunk off for 48 hours sole it. My second pregnancy was so low key that there were a few people who were shocked when I said I had a son. I too kept it quiet because I had also had mc's.

I am 18 weeks with no 2 and only very close friends can tell when I am wearing certain clothes. Still in own clothes. I am quite tall and I think this helps (more space for bump). I also lost a lot of weight because of terrible morning sickness and that probably has an impact too.

im only just managing to squeeze in to my clothes at the moment ...usually have to undo a button of a night after a large meal.
i am only small and slight in build. fingers crossed i can conceil until 18 weeks then will tell everyone at christmas.

I gave up and told the world after the 12wk scan as my stomach muscles were obviously not up to the standard they had been with dd (where I had to show people 20wk scan pics before they believed me)

buy some bigger jeans and start wearing this winter's baggy 1980s tunic shapes

Blimey... I was in maternity clothes at about 7 weeks with number 2!
Im now 12 weeks and its pretty obvious. Friends guessed at the weekend.

I was quite big straight away with my first too so i think im just destined to pop out quickly. Although its much more obvious this time! I currently look about 5mths gone!

With both my pregnancies I didnt look pregnant until 20 wks plus but then grew rapidly and was huge at the end with both.

Everyone's different!

Forgot to say, in terms of disguises: once you wear maternity clothes you look pregnant! So bigger clothes probably better. Also: well placed long scarves to hide your belly. And belly bands to extend the life of your trousers.

Good luck!

With my first it was about 12 weeks and this time maybe around 10ish but I am now 19 weeks and if I wear maternity trousers and a top people say i'm huge and I am quite big for my stage, my family have big babies!

I wear quite a lot of leggings with smock tops (non maternity) which is luckily the fashion just now, with long scarves and I think that disguises it pretty well. In fact on the train this morning no one offered me a seat! I kept sticking the bump out but no luck

I'm not trying to disguise it, just that as Roary says, once you wear maternity clothes it is more obvious!

I tell everyone immediately because I am crap at secrets, but could probably keep it a secret right til the end as I am fat and very apple-shaped.

I told close family at 5 weeks and everyone at work at 8 weeks as I was puking non-stop and off sick a lot. Was in maternity trousers by 9 weeks.

Friends and extended family at 12 weeks once I had the scan.

I too had a loss at 19 weeks, so didn't want to tell till after 22 week scan.

I wore trousers in a bigger size with elasticated waist and baggy tops. Also a winter coat is a wonderful thing! Some of the mums at school didn't realise till spring came and the coat came off.

Good luck with the pg. Are they giving you extra scans?

Once you get past the dreaded date things do get a bit better. Good luck.
