Ive had a another scan today as I keep bleeding..baby is fine measuring 7+5 but the songrapher told me I have a blood clot in my womb near the gestational sac..she didnt seem particularly concerned but IVe been googling(probably a bad idea) and it seems that this is not good..the risk of miscarriage is much higher and also of late miscarriages, pre term labour and placental abruption....
has any one had any experience of a SCH??

Im rather scared

Oh hun dont panic, i have had this too at 10 weeks and i also googled bad idea. The lady who scanned me said the clot was just below the placenta and not affecting baby at all. I bled until 12 weeks when i lost 2 clots and thankfully had nothing since. They ay there is no evidence of it on my scans now.
This is what she said may happen, it can either keep bleeding or clear up by itself, be re-absorbed or something. Mine was very small, something like 1cm by 1cm. Did they say how big yours is?

Its so hard not to panic i was in a right state, im sure your baby will be fine. Stay away from google!!! x

It is good that she didn't seems concerned btw, that should mean baby is looking good and not bothered by the clot.

The midwife told me that some women do keep bleeding all the way through but mostly they clear up. She said she has seen women with really bad bleeding and all has been ok in the end. Hope this helps.

Thanks maybebaby..the scan report says that the clot is 6x4 mm..its adjacent to the gestational sac..so its very small..heres hoping it doesnt get any bigger

I had one with a lot of bleeding at 9w, and some more bleeding at 11w. I don't know how large mine was but I haven't had any bleeding since (now 20w) and have had two more scans and everything appears to be fine. If the sonographer wasn't concerned, I'm sure you'll be fine

Im not sure if mine was cm or mm, i think it was mm actually! And adjacent to the sac too. It shouldn't get any bigger it will probably just bleed out. I never had any bleeding until 10 weeks so mine probably just appeared too! Lasted 2 weeks so i hope yours clears up as quickly.

no they didn't offer to re scan me. I was due to go on holiday the day after the bleed and scan so was away for 2 weeks (with the bleeding ) and then by my 12 week scan a few days after i got home, the bleeding had stopped and they said there was no evidence of the clot.
