Pregnancy

How much weight did you lose in early pregnancy?

Am almost 15 weeks pregnant- stepped on scales this morning and am now 8lbs lighter than I was at the start of the pregnancy!

The weightloss doesn't show anywhere (except in my lovely defined cheekbones!) as I have a growing bump and everything. Is just caused by morning sickness no appetite but its worrying me slightly. Scans show bub is size it should be so am assuming it is just taking everything it needs from me- just actually want to start putting on weight (and never thought I would write that!)

I'm thirteen weeks pregnant and I've lost 6.5kg, I think it's about 1 stone. All since the weeks before I found out I was pregnant. The midwife wasn't concerned when I told her, but if your worried speak to your midwife. She told me that it was weight I wouldn't have to lose after the baby's born, which I see as a good thing .

I'm the same as you though, growing bump, and boobs, don't know where I'm getting the extra padding from

Is so weird isnt it- still getting bigger but losing weight- dya reckon we are getting hollow- oooh no I know we are turning into those russian dolls! Hollow but with a bub inside!

Is very different from last pregnancy (ended in MMC at 10 weeks) as I had put on almost a stone by 10 weeks (odd considering emby stopped at 6.5weeks but egg sac carried on) but then literally overnight I lost a stone- not a recommended weight loss technique

Pregnancy is an odd odd thing!

I lost over a stone in the first 15 weeks, most of that between week 11 and 15

I lost about a stone in the first 4 months when I was pregnant.

I left hospital in the end half a stone lighter than I started with an 8lb 4oz baby .

I'd love to say it stayed that way but nearly 4 years on I'm half a stone heavier than the day I went into labour and definately not pregnant!

Thandeka I am loving your russian doll theory, however I have it on good authority that getting the baby out isn't as simple as just taking the top off

I lost a lot of weight in pregnancy no 2- and it accelerated very badly (10lbs in 2 weeks) but I had hyperemesis and couldn't even keep down water. I was medicated at about 9 weeks.

On the plus side it was the first time I had lost the leftover baby weight from DD so that cheered me up (until I started eating again and put on 3 1/2 stone from about 6mths on).

Keep an eye on your weight and ask your midwife/ Doctor if you are still not gaining by your next appointment.

I lost a couple of kilos and I wasn't even being sick. It was just that they diagnosed my underactive thyroid in the first blood tests at 6wks and put me on levothyroxine, which has really made my metabolism speed up.

At 16/40 I'm a kg lighter than I was when we conceived. Not quite sure how as I had nausea but only a couple of episodes of sickness. Probably due to my awful appetite which does lend weight to the theory that if only I had some will power losing weight when not pregnant shouldn't be that tricky!

I had hyperemesis too - I lost over one and a half stone in the first 12 weeks. I'm now 35+3 and only a couple of pounds heavier than I was at 12 weeks.

I was really worried at first but the baby is just fine. They are selfish beasts and will take what they need whether you have it to give or not. My bump has grown as it should whilst the rest of me has got smaller.

designerbaby - don't worry, I can't speak for anyone else here but I still look fat when I'm pregnant even if my BMI is fine
