I've had one.

It was fine on all counts.

Try not to worry ... actually giving birth is much worse

You knbow, I cant remember if they put any anaesthetic on, I dont think they do.

It honestly didnt hurt me. All i felt was a slight prick, then a popping sensation. It really wasnt uncomfortable or anything. Just a bit wierd.

Good luck for next week. I'm sure it will be fine.

I've had one and it wasn't too bad. I was able to watch my baby on the screen throughout which I found very reassuring. I would suggest wearing loose trousers - the lady who went in before me had quite tight jeans on and I remember thinking that I was glad I was wearing loose, comfy trousers. I also felt a little sensitive afterwards (both emotionally and physically) and was glad that I'd taken the rest of the day off work. Not everyone may feel like that though. I imagine that some people may find that working takes their mind off the test results.
