Anyone get a recording of the Ultra Sound Scans?

Next month I will be having my 13 week scan with my 3rd child. I did not get recordings with my other pregnancies and know a few people who have.

Two went private and one just paid the sonographer (is that what they are called? )

I just contacted my hospital and they said they did not have the recording equipment so I asked if I could pay to record with my own camcorder. I really want my two girls to be able to see their little sister or brother in the womb. They are not sure if I can do this and need to call back next week.

My friend who recorded her scan herself did this at a hospital in the east end.

I bet my hospital will say no because it effects the equipment or something but how come my friend got to do it?

My hospital specifically put up posters in the waiting room to advise that recording equipment was not to be used in the scanning rooms.

I did this with my first scan.
Tried to do it again at 20 weeks and the sonographer told me I couldn't. Depends on where you get it done or who is doing it I suppose.

why do they have to be like that - its not like recording equipment is noisy or causes a distraction, you can zoom in so you are not in the way.

i totally understand if it interferes with the equipment but if oliverboliverbutt got to do it once and my friend did on both of her scans then it obviously does not?

with my 2nd dd i had the most grumpiest of sonographers both times. i love the scans and was always looking forward to them but with dd2 they done them so quick i hardly had any time to see her.

the 1st time with both scans the sonographers were lovely and spent ages talking me through it all and making sure they got the best pic for me.

ah well - will it be a nice one or a cranky one?

On one of these pregnancy programmes on the TV the couple used his mobile phone to record the ultrasound (and then set it as his ring tone, which I thought was kind of nice!). Surely they couldn't object to that, could they?
