I'm 16 weeks pregnant. Friend has just told me that her ds who we spent last Sunday with has chickpox. (He is a lovely boy and we had lots of cuddles.)

I've already had it
She says that she thinks he's at the infectious stage now.

How worried should I be? Help!

No need to worry at all as you have already had it. Not at all.

I was 19 weeks pregnant and was away for weekend with family and the week later sister tells me nephew (then 3) has chicken pox. I rang midwife in a panic and she assured me as I had already had chicken pox (when I was 9, at the time was 33) dd was fine (now 2)

One worry to tick off the list!!

if you are worried have a blood test to check on your immunity but as you have had it you should be ok

If you've already had it then you are probably immune and therefore fine. If you are worried you can get your doctor to do a blood test to check this. Chickenpox can be a problem in pregnancy but most people are immune as it is so common in childhood. Sounds like you're probably fine.
