Its good that you're having a scan, but bear in mind you may just show a sac and no yolk at this stage and they might ask you to return in a couple of weeks to assess viability by seeing if there's a fetal pole and or heartbeat.

Try not to worry and relax, without wishing to sound horrible, you have absolutely no control one way or the other, so just focus on the scan and hopefully, your uterus is just twinging as it gets a little bigger. I'll be thinking of you, let us know how you get on- when's your scan?

I had cramping pains with all three pregnancies and they went away after a while, have heard this form a lot of other women too

Just to say it could be implanation pains which is normal...wish someone had told me that.

I was sent for an early scan as doctor worried it could be ecoptic (sp) and had the worry of what Iwish has said may happen.

Thankfully all was ok and My DS is now 18mths but I will never forget the worry and stress of waiting to find out if my HCG levels had doubled daily and if there was a fetal pole and heartbeat in further visits.

Good luck x

I had lots of period pain cramping. Often worse than period pains.

I was worried but was told it was implantation. They lasted for longer than I expected.

Hope you're a bit less worried now. Congrats by the way!

Have to say, I'm very surprised that your GP said that PG should be painless!! Your uterus is growing at an alarming rate in the early weeks and it's bound to cause some stretching and cramping. Absolutely go for an early scan, but I don't necessarily agree with what your GP said.

I definitely had mild cramping at the beginning of this PG which the EPU said is probably implantation pains.

Good luck!!

I had cramping at 4 weeks too. I am 6 weeks now, and not had anything for the last week, in the way of abdominal pain. From what I have read it is common in the very early stages, as it beds in and your uterus starts to stretch. Good luck. It's all very scary, isn't it?

I don't even get period pains and I had them in easy pregnancy. Hope all's well, it is a scary old business this childbearing lark.

I had cramping from when my period was due to 10 weeks every day with both my pregnancies, I was told by my midwife that it is absolutely normal and that I should ignore it unless it became really strong and painful with or without bleeding.

Yep me too - cramping on and off for the first 12 weeks. I think it's supposed to be stretching

your gp is wrong. I am pregnant with number4 and had cramping with all them. In fact this time round i kept checking my knickers to check I hadnt started my period and I was imagining being pregnant.

I too had this - I was convinced that my period was due to start at any time as it was so late. (Put symptoms like that and tiredness down to stress as I had just started commuting to Ireland on a weekly basis...)

went for my scan today... could see the sac but nothing else but it in the right place... ie not ectopi which was a relief.. going back next week to check it viable..fingers crossed,

pains continue.. made me doubleover and was sick this morning. could be to do with bowels or sex maybe?

have you had sex? shouldnt make a difference but you never know. At four weeks you wouldnt see much more than a sac, so that is good. At around 6 / 7 weeks a heartbeat should be seen on a scan. Honestly, sometimes my pains were worse than period pains.

Also i am pregnant with number 4, 13weeks now and the nausea has just started to ease. Somedays I have just wretched and wretched. A good sign that the hormones are strong and your body doing what it should be, if that makes sense.

Keep strong and keep posing, let us know how you are.

Could I be pregnant?
My period is generally 3-4 days long, 26-30 day cycles but my last period I was spotting on march 26 then medium period on the 27th and light spotting on the 28th and after sex on the 29-30th. I had a pregnancy test that was negative March 31 late at night at a doctors office and he told me that I should retest in about 5 days (said it was still early?? even though I ovulated on March 10-11)
I've been light headed, few times almost fainted, nauseous on and off.. eating about 1 meals a day although I'm hungry.. I've had weird period like pains, my breasts aren't really hurting although they were massively sore for 2 weeks up until the 26th. I've been under quiet a bit of stress lately but I don't feel stressed out any more. I've also had light skin breakouts, dizziness, fatigue, and diarrhea.
Help

Thank god I read all your posts. I am very newly pregnant at 4 weeks (trying for a very long two years) and for the last 2 days have been feeling like I about to come on, and yes, checking my knickers all the time. (In appropriate places of course).
Thank you all, you have put my mind at rest.
