Head engaging question

Hi, just looking for a bit of advice. Am 35 weeks and baby was really active yesterday, prodding, kicking turning - all sorts. Today she seems really quiet (I have a bad cold and am off work sick so have only just got up....) Maybe she is still asleep? The bump appears a bit droopy today and I just wondered if maybe all the activity yesterday was the head engaging.

Once it engages, do you feel less movements? Sure I'm worrying over nothing. Don't feel extra pressure in pelvis or anything like that.

Hello Cosmo

I've heard that engagement can cause less movements but I think its not necessarily the case for everyone. I guess baby has less space once dropped...

I've had days of less movements than usual, but still more than the golden 10 movements in 12hrs. I was worried then the next day (and since) its like baby is trying to redecorate the womb or something similar. I mentioned to my MW last Friday and she said that if I was at all concerned about movments then to not numbers of movements and ringing antenatal ward to go into get monitored.

In terms of feeling it in pelvis, mine is 2/5ths engaged now, so 3/5th palpable (at 37wks) and the biggest feeling I have is bladder pressure in the night mainly and sometimes the feeling like its very low down. Im definately walking funny but that could also be the SPD!

Im sure you will get some more replies on this.

Thanks GYo. She's moving a bit more now I've just had breakfast, and bladder feeling squashed, so maybe it is the head going down a bit.......

Definately sounds it!

I am now up about 4/5 times a night for bathroom due to the pressure....Im worried how bad it will be once fully engaged!
