I am 8 weeks and 5 days pregnant, this is my first pregnancy...I have had a date for my scan in 3 weeks but I have had no sickness for the last days and my breasts are no longer sore....I've read that sudden disappearance of symptoms is not good....should I be worried??

Firstly, congratulations. Secondly, you may find lots of people come along and tell you they had exactly the same experience and went on to have healthy babies. I certainly did. It is not uncommon, but if you are very worried, call your midwife, she may be able to offer you the reassurance you need.
It's par for the course to worry constantly in the early stages. Best wishes.

call your mw or Early Preg unit as soon as you can. It's doing you no good to worry alone; you need the medical staff to reassure you. Good luck.

sorry, didn't mean to sound so abrupt! Just hope you get some reassurance.

congratulations

I remember awful sickness with DD1 and worried about not getting enough nutrients into me etc. then overnight it all stopped. Literally overnight - woke up feeling fine for first time from almost conception. Of course, then I started to worry about the pregnancy!!

Glad you have made a call to your MW, but I would not worry too much at this stage. Honestly, from now on you are going to have a little worry about everything and that is so normal. It doesn?t stop with the pregnancy either - mine are 5 and 7 yrs old and I still worry daily about some angle - not eating, looking pale, fallen out with friends, falling behind with schoolwork, teeth look wonky - you name it

Welcome to parenthood

I'm pretty much in same situation here! 8 weeks + 6 and the last couple of days my symptoms seem to have subsided. I've never had any strong symptoms anyway, just tender breasts and bit nauseous occassionally, but never sick or tired etc. I've had an early dating scan which was all fine but the reassurance of that quick goes when you're just listening to any possible sign of y our body. Drives me insane!
Hey please come back and let us know what they say on phone, would be really good to know.

I've just checked my pregnancy diary and i wrote there that all my symptoms stopped at week 8 especially the sore boobs ( I too was terrified it was a missed mc and had a scan at 9 weeks)

I also didn't get any sickness untill week 10 and then it only lasted just over a week. I'm 25 weeks now so everything was fine, and lots of my friends said their symptoms had gone by about week 8/9/10 as well.

Try not to worry to much (hard I know) but not every pregnancy is text book, hopefully your midwife will be able to reasure you x

As everyone else has said - don't worry, it can be completely normal. My symptoms never started for them to stop oh what i'd have given to have projectile vomit down the back of the toilet!

I remember that at about 8 weeks with my first pregnancy my nausea suddenly subsided for a few days, and then started up again.

thank you everybody for your words of support - still waiting to hear back from the MW but your comments have helped me! My friend miscarried at 8 weeks so I suppose I could be overreacting...fingers crossed and thanks again x

Kristy, can you call epu and ask for a scan.

I had sudden loss of symptoms, no other signs anything was amiss. In my heart of hearts i knew so arranged a private. Sadly, i was right, my lo had gone to sleep. I was 10+6.

Hopefully, you will have a good outcome, but please do get checke dif you feel things aren't normal for you.

Good luck

Let us know what your mw says! I've only seen mine once but she was v old school (IMO) and everything was fiiiineeee, nothing to worry about, no need to test anything or do pretty much anything! Very frustrating and her approach wasn't very symphatetic for a first timer who's totally confused and lost. We had early scan privately cos I just wanted reassurance. Keep us posted xx

Thank you for all your kind words of suppport..We went for an early scan yesterday privately and am overjoyed to report that everything is ok and Baby is perfectly healthy with a strong heartbeat of 160...hearing that was amazing!!

Thank you all again....I'll just try and enjoy my pregnancy now and not to panic (even though I had hollandaise sauce with my salmon last night before I realised I shouldn't have - oops!)
