Heartburn

Is there anything you can do to help hertburn apart from Gaviscon? I'm pretty crap at taking liquid medicines in general (though I'll happily swallow tablets the size of my head)but now I'm pregnant I've got a total aversion to anything vaguely minty tasting so it's definitley not an option. Didn't really enjoy the 2 hours of searing chest pain last night and wonder if anyone has tried any alternative remedies? From what I remember when I was pregnant with DS my heartburn was triggered by any kind of food so there's no point trying to avoid certain foods to prevent it.

I never found drinking milk or any of the other general suggestions helpful and spent my first 2 pg's drinking gaviscon (and then throwing them merrily in the bin as soon as I could walk after birth!). However, for pg3, I discovered Zantac tablets, which you can get in Boots and Sainsburys off the shelf. Small tasteless tablets that seemed to do the trick!
You have my sympathy - good luck!

Chewable Rennies are ok, as don't leave you feeling like you have eaten the teachers chalk!

If you do a search, I do believe that there was a thread recently where people shared their rememdies. Lots of suggestions.
