still getting 10+ movements a day from bubs, but they seem different the last few days. not as many big kicks, move slow movements and the kicks i am getting are lower as well, not as high up under my ribs. dont remember this with the girls, they kciked me furiously right til lthe end.

Misdee - how far along are you? I was up a bit last night and early again this morning counting the movements as they have been less strong and frequent. I drank two glasses of cold water and within 5-10 minutes I got a nice series of kicks but generally it's more of a wriggling, maneouvering type of movement than strong kicks. I'm 34+4 and I'm particularly paranoid today as I lost my last baby at 35 weeks. I know they say movements slow down towards the end because of less space.

am now 36+weeks, and i have literally had to stop and make sure bubs is moving, as i havent felt her that strongly the last few days. just wondering if she is preparing early.

I had this with dd.....went into labour at 36+4!! As long as you are getting your 10 movements a day I wouldn't worry! She is probably bigger than the others and running out of room!

I went to the hospital today for a check as I was worried about the movements last night and this morning (fewer and less strong). All is fine and as soon as I got strapped to the monitor of course the little monkey started kicking and jumping about. The MW said I could go in as often as I needed reassurance or they could give me appointments twice a week instead of once a week as at the moment. I think I'll stick to once a week plus extra visits if I feel I need them.

Good luck with your appts, Misdee. My next one is on Tuesday, I'm having a scan to check the baby's growth (hopefully not too big, I have gestational diabetes) and I'm seeing the Consultant afterwards. I've been seeing the same MW at all my appointments - what a difference it makes seeing the same person.

I hope the new hospital is a good one. I suspect it is, as you'd have the info from talking with your dh.

How are you controlling the GDM? I'm still on diet only but I might ask for a bit of insulin to keep me going for evening and overnight as my morning values have been creeping to over 7 and the evening ones have had the occasional 9 and 10. I had hoped for a natural birth but will have to see the baby's size and what the consultant says as well, may have to change it for a caesarean. The baby was at the 50th centile at a scan at 30 weeks, so a good size, not too big, I'll see how she is on Tuesday as well (I'll be 35 weeks then).

everything under control with diet. hardly any high readings. had a few blips, but thats becaus ei'm rushing about too much. babies size is good, dd2 was 9lb, so am hoping to avoid one that size again.

the hospital is good, its actually where i gave birth to dd2, so am happy to be going there.
