This is going to sound bonkers but I was wondering if anybody else has ahd this feeling...

its really hard to describe!

  1. T'other night I was putting my PJs on. Had one leg in, lifted the other to put it in and whilst leg was suspended in the air I just sort of forgot how to put my leg in - I knew what I had to do, my brain was syaing "just stick your leg in!" but my leg was waving about in the air! I fell over

  1. At work going up the stairs, a similar thing happened - I was going up, knew i had to keep going and then wavered about near the top unable to put my feet where they should have been - I fell again

  1. Last night at home, walking along and again, unable to put feet where they should have gone - jsut stumbled thankfully

Am I just tired I wonder? I feel great apart from that

Wonder if I'm overdoing it a tad and combined with new shape I'm just getting wobbly on my feet or something? Never had it with previous two pregnancies

told you it was bonkers

I've completely lost the ability to walk downstairs...! My eyes/brain/feet don't seem to be connected - I'm ok if I don't actually look at the steps. It's definitely worse when I'm tired and if I actually start thinking about it. But is very embarrassing to take a massive step that's too big for the actual stair and then have to grab the banisters. I'm putting it down to my centre of gravity being in a different place as my bump gets bigger (and bigger, and bigger)...

I had something similar, like my brain forgot how to tell my body to do things! If you are worried, it won't hurt to pop down to gp and see what You won't look stupid, you'll look like a sensible person who is conerned for her health and well being.

Chiropractic is great for the balance thing it really does help, i had the same thing when i was pregnant and luckily my husband is a chiroprator it sorted the problem out with just a few treatments. You need to get this sorted you don't want to fall and hurt you or the baby.

Oooh! Have you read Oliver Sacks?

Could be brain related - not saying serious but it could be to do with brain signals not working effectively.

My mumhad damage to her frontal lobe and couldn't spell properly for a bit and mixed up words in her sentences. "Put the cooker on the table" for example instead of "put the plate on the table"

Yipee at last someone else who admits to going crazy through pregnancy. I have no idea what I am doing half the time. My favourite trick is to walk into a room and stand there for a little while. My DH is always having to ask me what I am doing! Mostly I have forgotten

I have always had the inability to walk up stairs properly - like you say, sometimes brain just seems to disengage, and end up sort of falling up the stairs. Embarrassing when in front of colleagues, eg today!

Has not got worse since being pregnant.
