Pregnancy

Anyone else so tired that they could scream - except that they don't have the energy?

At the moment DD1 is going through a bit of a clingy phase (getting her canine teeth, which I think might be contributing). So instead of playing by herself, I have to go and play with her, I have to read her books, and I have to go out into the garden and play. Poor DD1, she is really getting short-changed this pregnancy. But I am so exhausted I just don't know what to do. The last of my energy was taken up on a trip to the library to quell DD's cabin fever this morning. She's now watching Balamory and eating her lunch, but that won't last for long, and I just don't know what to do.
I wish I had a second-trimester blooming and feeling wonderful phase. The third trimester is looming and it can only get worse.....

Yes, i'm very early on in my pregnancy but I think the fact that its only been 6 months since DS2 was born is telling on my body. I'm sooo shattered that I'm having to escape the the loos in work for a quick 10 minute nap!

Me too, {{squeak}} (that was me trying to scream but being too tired.)

37+ weeks, crippling guilt for sending ds to nursery every morning just because I neeeeeeeed to rest.

Hang in there, I'm hoping this will all get better (if it's any consolation I looked after my 10 month old godson last week, oh wow I had forgotten how much easier babies are than toddlers- not sure how old your dd is? I was thinking the work would double by having a baby but after my babysitting I'm hoping not )

DD1 is 20 months. I never thought that I would look back with nostalgia at my first pregnancy when I struggled so much with work and felt guilty constantly that I was short-changing my boss...
DD1 has never been to nursery, and not only can we not really afford to send her without me working, I also don't have the energy to find a good nursery. In this area, I should really be sorting out where she's going to go right now anyway, as the waiting lists for the good places are so long.

If it's any consolation I have been feeling much more energetic in my 3rd trimester (3rd pregnancy) than in my 2nd. I have 4 weeks to go and DH is marvelling at how I am suddenly so much more energetic (whilst being so huge). I have 2 young DCs and the 2nd is not the best sleeper at the moment. Think it's the teeth with her too.

Hopefully you will feel better as the pregnancy progresses

have you all had your iron levels checked? can add to tiredness, I've just been given a prescription for iron tablets as I'm a bit low (but hadn't actually noticed, thought I was supposed to be this tired!)

So glad that I'm not alone...

My iron was checked recently, just as routine. I've never had low iron before (even when I was a near-vegan blood donor) and I'm taking an antenatal multi, so I don't think it's likely. Which is a shame, as it would be lovely to have a solution!
